friendly reminder that you didn't waste your year. any moments of happiness or comfort. any small accomplishments, they all matter. this has been a really hard year, and simply surviving is something to be proud of.

An original digital illustration of a pink necked green pigeon perching on a branch full of lush green leaves and a small pink blossom. The pigeon has its back to the viewer with its head looking to the left. In shape and proportions it’s very similar to most other birds in the pigeon family, sort of plump and rounded. The colouring is multicoloured fading one into the other. The tail goes from a kind of dark blue black at the top of the feathers to light blue and then a yellowish green then to a kind of light mint green. The wings are a slightly darker tone of this mint green and it’s neck feathers transition back to light blue then a light mauve wrapping round the head and going back to light blue again. It has a startling pinkish purple eye with dark pupil and a grey blue beak. The leg feathers are various shades of green. The background of the illustration is made up of light and dark green inky splash marks.

Yesterday at breakfast I got so hyperfocused on one kanji, I realized I got sucked into Oracle Bone Scripts and the early script history of China and Japan only at 2am. 😩
