Still reeling from the tragedy in Traverse City—grateful the victims will survive and for the courage of bystanders & responders. But let’s be clear: our region’s mental health system is in crisis. No psych beds for kids. Too few for adults. If you care about it, you fund it. #MI01

TC MI: free counseling is available to all community members at the Innovation Center in Traverse City at the Cedar Lot from Monday to Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Grand Traverse Mental Health Crisis and Access Center also offers 24-hour counseling.
There is also the crisis hotline at 833-295-0616.

Tonight, we’re praying for the victims, families, and all those at the scene and impacted by the horrible violence in Traverse City, MI. And, we are so grateful for our first responders and all medical personnel.

Two things will happen because of Bergman: you will lose insurance or your premiums will go up.

We need a real, affordable public healthcare option that keeps hospitals funded and people healthy, not bankrupt. #MI01

We tried Medicaid work requirements. It failed: $$ to run, and it didn’t put people to work. Thousands were set to lose coverage—not for being unemployed, but for missing forms. Taking away healthcare won’t make people better workers. We need an actual, affordable public insurance option. #MI01

When you are afraid to meet with your constituents, it's probably becuase you aren't voting in their best interests. U.S. Representatives are elected to serve us—not a political party or president. That means showing up for US at home and in DC. I'm running to do that.

Northern Michigan hospitals prepare for Medicaid funding reductions State hospitals are set lose $6 billion in Medicaid funding over the next 10 years.

Hospital closures, reduced services - this is the reality in Upper and Northern MI. Our hospitals are now desperately planning.

Bergman voted for this. For it - even after the closure of the hospital in Ontonagon. He’s not fighting for us.

And we will live with the consequences. #MI01
