Speaking as someone who personally struggles with it (debilitatingly so). It’s challenging to go through life wanting to connect to your community, it’s kind of what we do. And then when you try and your style of communication is a little different you get labeled as the “weird” one.
There needs to be a think-piece documentary of some sort highlighting Black folks with social anxiety. There’s so much pressure to mask it because our culture has such a history of community engagement.
