Jana Spangler is a lifelong member of the Church and spiritual seeker. When her spiritual life became suddenly and unexpectedly complicated over a decade ago, she began an earnest journey to find space and meaning for herself and others in the struggle.

For almost two centuries, the Nauvoo Expositor has been unfairly maligned by the church. The church recently admitted it was a "[c]redible contemporary source" (see footnote 15). This is important to me because one of the affidavits in the Expositor was written by one of my ancestors.
