OH thank you for reminding me that I actually have a physical copy of one of the Framed Ink books in my desk!! It's not on my bookshelf with my other books so I'd completely forgotten about it. Time to do some studies...

I love seeing BTS like this bc it comes from a piece of art where you're like "How did he do that??" to watching carefully over the process and going "Ooooooh, so that's how he did that" and unlocking some new knowledge for yourself that makes art seem less impossible

Color theory and composition are two big ones I feel like I've been stuck in a rut on for a while now. I tend to use orange/red/yellow palettes a lot and am never satisfied when I try to do stuff with cool colors, and my compositions have been feeling "same-y"...

Maybe!! I've never seen any (at my level) mentioned in any of the event newsletters for the city itself or any of the local libraries, but there are some other places around that might do them. A lot of art stuff around here's generally kinda at a super beginner, casual, or kid's level :(

A lot of art books are targeted at absolute "can't even draw a stick figure" level beginner and if I skip all the stuff I know like the back of my hand, that's like 75% of the book gone 😔

I wish there were more resources for artists in kind of an intermediate to professional level of skill. Sometimes I'd like to do refreshers on the more advanced side of art basics, but I want to skip over stuff like what primary colors are or how to make a greyscale gradient with a pencil, etc
