I do think litigating stuff like this while necessary to a degree is frustrating because it is quite obvious that a lot of people claiming there’s widespread fraud believe this because a lot of legitimate voters are the kind of people they don’t think can be period.

Just finished A Scheme of Heaven by Alexander Boxer.
This was a detailed overview of the history of astrology that handled the topic skeptically yet respectfully. It was a bit dry to read. 4 stars.
My cats were disinterested in this one.

Oh also the book begins with the most condescending dedication to Ursula K. Le Guin I could imagine (basically Smith says he likes the label ‘propertarian’ she came up with and smugly suggests she read Hayek).
Some Heinlein stuff is fun if dated (though Heinlein went all over the political spectrum).
-The main villains are the Federalists and they’re led by our world’s Red Baron who is still alive and fit
-the North American Confederacy ( US equivalent) can’t do ‘preemptive law enforcement’ so no warrants, they are willing to let the Federalists nuke them rather than violate their principles
How bad are we talking? Actual lore includes:
-libertarian American ending slavery early and no civil war because ‘no slavery or tariffs’ (author’s words)
-kids get guns on their 6th birthday and everyone carries so no crime
-uplifted dolphins and apes by 1987
-President Ayn Rand walked on the Moon
Just read The Probability Broach by L. Neil Smith. I picked up this libertarian propaganda alternate history because I hoped it would be the funny kind of bad and was not disappointed on that front. That said, it is objectively a 2.5 star book at most.

Thinking about how back when I was in college a decade ago the CR chapter I was in impeached its leader for an Islamaphobic joke and then those same people who did that either left the GOP or shifted to the alt right as soon as they saw where the momentum on that side were going.

Just finished Dollcraft by Patti Negri.
It’s a good basic overview of haunted dolls and poppets, but was a bit too basic for my tastes and the repeated mentions of Zak Baggans did ick me out a bit.
Spooky was more interested in her toy rainbow as she should be.
