A few white feathers are fairly irresistible, a few scattered near the mud tray can help to get all the birds in the colony interested if they seem to be reluctant to find the mud.
Interested in finding out more about how you can help / like a talk for your local group ? Get in touch π
Can you create a mud pie for house martins? Itβs been pretty dry spring, making it difficult for birds building nests
Plastic plant trays can be useful for keeping the mud wet for longer, good on hard surfaces, they can even be used successfully on flat roofs if safe/ practical to do so. 1/2
HMSS in the #EADT at the weekend! Please send #SBG your house Martin records this year for our countywide census , more info soon- www.suffolkbirdgroup.org/
