"Juan" shares, "It was 33° in Sunnyside WA when we arrived at 7am this day to begin pruning cherry trees. It was 50° when we left at 3:30. It's a hard job. We must balance on a ladder cutting branches with heavy shears. We earn $1.80 a tree average 50-60 trees a day." #WeFeedYou

"Victor" sent us this pic from Stanislaus County where they work 5-6 days/week, 8 hrs/day. "There was some light rain, but we were lucky to get done before the heavy rain hit. Rain makes a tough job much tougher, both for us workers and for the machinery we operate." #WeFeedYou

"Maria" works in the strawberry roots in the Ballico CA area. She earns piece rate,but says working as fast as she can, she barely makes CA min wage. She skillfully sorts the roots into bunches of 1000. These roots will be transplanted in the spring. #wefeedyou

"Jorge" shared this video from where he is hard at work pruning cherry trees in the Madera CA area. Pruning trees is hard work as holding these shears up all day long as you climb up and down ladders causes serious strain on workers' arms, shoulders and back. #WeFeedYou

"Justo" is harvesting lettuce in Madera County CA. He labors 6 days a week, working 8-10 hrs shifts. "It's hard repetitive work. We have to be bent over all the time. We cut the lettuce clean off the extra leaves bag it and put it in a box. I earn minimum wage." #WeFeedYou

"Arnulfo" shares, "These are heads of broccoli that I've harvested. I've been working in the fields of CAs Central Coast for 21 years. I plant and grow broccoli, lettuce, cauliflower, and other vegetables you probably will see on your #Thanksgiving tables." #WeFeedYou

You can see the raspberry canes growing in the background. This worker is going through the flats that were just picked and filling the clamshell retail boxes. She is making sure only high quality berries are included and the weight is accurate.

This WA apple worker is taking a break at the end of a row of apples. This method, where the trees are trained along racks, is most often seen in newer varieties like honeycrisp and cosmic crisp apples. It increases sunlight to each branch and reduces how much ladder work is required.

These are organic onions in Oregon that were bagged after digging, to allow the mud to dry. They are then dumped back out into rows for a machine to collect — the dirt falls off easily once dry.

These workers are harvesting celery. They use a curved blade to cut and trim the bunches. It is often packaged right in the field by another crew of workers.

This adorable little acorn squash was harvested by hand with the extremely sharp shears pictured. It takes both strength and skill to work quickly without cutting your fingers.

A farm worker shared this from where he's harvesting romaine lettuce. The crew has 26 workers. One group harvests the lettuce, the next group bags it and the last group puts it in the boxes.
