If you were too young in 2003 here is what Bush told the American people:
1) The Iraq War won’t cost a lot of money
3) We won’t need a lot of troops
4) We’ll bring peace and freedom to Iraq
5) We’ll find WMDs
6) We’ll be welcomed as liberators
7) It will be easy
8) It won’t take long
All lies.

This is an example of how white supremacy works. It makes sense that George Floyd should be killed without a trial bcz of a $20 fake bill while this guy tried and found guilty by a jury of his peers is now free.

What It Feels Like to Starve
What we are witnessing now in Gaza is not a famine of nature. It is famine as a weapon of mass destruction.
A year ago, I was living the same nightmare that 2.2 million people in Gaza are currently living: constant exhaustion, dehydration, rapid weight loss.
Just wrote on what it feels like to be starving — and slowly being deprived of the necessities to survive.

Here is the grad speech that NYU is now withholding the student's diploma for:
"As I search my heart today in addressing you all…the only thing that is appropriate to say in this time and to a group this large is a recognition of the atrocities currently happening in Palestine."

Another household kept alive by American aid was that of Jennifer Inyaa, a 35-year-old single mom, and her 5-year-old son, Evan Anzoo, both of them H.I.V.-positive. Last month, after the aid shutdown, Inyaa became sick and died, and a week later Evan died as well, according to David Iraa Simon, a community health worker who assisted them. Decisions by billionaires in Washington quickly cost the lives of a mother and her son.
"Many more children will die in the coming weeks," said Margret Amjuma, a health worker who confirmed the deaths of Peter and Achol.
Take a moment today to read about a few of the young children whom Trump and Musk killed by shutting down USAID. The blame for these deaths falls on them.
There will be hundreds of thousands more dead kids before their lethal crusade against foreign aid ends. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

I will never forget the photo of Zelenskyy’s face after he saw Russia’s war crimes in Bucha in 2022. He seemed to age years in an afternoon. Watching him constantly cross the world asking for aid that should have been thrown at him is one of the deepest shames of our age.

During WWII, four brothers from the same Jewish family signed up to fight against the Nazis. Only one of the four brothers survived.
His grandson is the current President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.

Oh ok so we are sending politicians to Europe to give impassioned speeches about public safety yet we live in a society where our own citizens are killing people with guns and the last politician I remember denouncing it with genuine passion was Obama ok got it 😤

Also this is not to say Dems are innocent. They were complicit with a genocide, they told us to “shut up” about it. Just shocking all around

This is like going to a stranger’s home, burning it down on purpose, then pretending you care about their safety. Also, if Gaza is “not a place for people to be living,” why are you going to turn it into some f’ed up version of Mar a Lago? Truly a despicable human being with zero empathy

Just a note b4 tomorrow: part of what also angers me is people think libs are angry we lost Biden/Harris & it’s like, no, we’re angry Trmp is incoming & we’re ALSO angry we were not offered a better option than B/H. An admin that valued human lives & didn’t back genocide would've been a great start

Helen, a cute tortoiseshell cat with no eyes and minimal tortie markings, “loaf” shaped on a rug.
I have a big ask from our local partner shelter. Beautiful, sweet blind cat Helen has had three approved adopters, but when the time comes to take her home, none of them have showed up. Can we find Helen a loving home at last? She’s been there since she was a baby! www.petfinder.com/cat/helen-71...

Just read @crivera.bsky.social's heartbreaking and stunning essay in @thecut.com that ties the tragedy of a wild-caught, captive orca (and our failure of her) to society's violence against women. So many parallels in how we justify certain behavior and/or look the other way. This paragraph broke me
