Marek's paper (and Disparia) was out as a preprint since May and the question could go both ways. Solarion + Meteora as Caelestes work well imo. But, I'm fan of Promethea and I think both papers are awesome! One love 😁

20.11.2025 21:24 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0When I've first seen the transformation under a microscope, the integration and disappearance of the flagellum, back then we had no idea what group of protists it could be, if it's even a eukaryote, it blew my mind. One can be seen in the Supplemental video 3. It keeps blowing my mind.

Is it a flagellate? A tiny ball with tentacles? Contamination in my ciliate culture? NEW SUPERGROUP OF EUKARYOTES? Yes to all 4! Meet Solarion - just out in #Nature doi.org/10.1038/s415... Huge congrats to Marek Valt, Cepicka Lab & the star team! Very happy to be part of this project. #ProtistsOnSky
