Stop trying to be republican-lite. Taxes are good. It’s the things they pay for that need to change.

I, for one, am willing to let Mike Flanagan cook. I’ve only seen his shows though, so I don’t know if he does as well with movies.

Cost of Net Zero by 2050 less than a single fossil fuel price shock – CCC  - Climate Change Committee The independent, statutory body tested its cost and energy security conclusions against different scenarios. It found that the total additional cost of a single fossil fuel price spike of 2022 magnitu...

The additional cost of ONE fossil fuel price spike on the scale of 2022 = the ENTIRE COST of Net Zero by 2050. We get precisely nothing in return for the first cost, and a whole new, more secure and cheaper energy system from the second one.

How would a terrorist attack allow Trump to federalize or cancel elections? What are the mechanisms that allow for that rather than for our elections continuing as they normally do? Sure Trump will try it, but which states would actually be compelled to accede to such a bullshit demand?

She certainly seemed to think it was her responsibility to motivate “centrist republicans” to vote for her.

Why does he do that thing with his face and head motions on like every syllable. Why is he so overly animated? Is that a learned Fox News host thing?

So he’s definitely going the “I’m actually the victim here, she seduced me!” route.

For all the but how can we afford space exploration folks…this means we’ve already spent more on this war that started last week than Cassini cost in the 26 years it took to build, launch, and operate it.

Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone.

It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.

The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than 30 cities.

It is two electric power plants, each serving a town of 60,000 population.

It is two fine, fully equipped hospitals. It is some 50 miles of concrete highway.

We pay for a single fighter plane with a half million bushels of wheat.

We pay for a single destroyer with new homes that could have housed more than 8,000 people.

This, I repeat, is the best way of life to be found on the road. the world has been taking.

This is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron.

from Eisenhower's April 1953 "Chance For Peace" speech

BREAKING: The Department of Education has ended its directive that attempted to restrict diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in schools nationwide.

This is a victory for academic freedom and education equity.

Like .7 kWh per h100 if it’s at full load. So in GA with ~ $.15/kWh that’s $.105 per hour.
But data centers have to factor in cooling, maintenance for back-up generators, giant UPS/power conditioners, plus the property and building cost of the location.
Must be astronomical once it’s all added up.
