I'm heartbroken at what we are losing because it's rare, it's special, and I fear it isn't replaceable in modern society.

I get excited for the Olympics every 2 years simply because for a short moment, society has something fun to connect about regardless of age, political opinion, etc. TikTok created that same feeling every day.

There are so many choices it's hard to find something that unites us all. It's silly but when the "it's corn!" song came out I found myself laughing about that and singing it with my 8 year old niece, my teenage students, my 30-something friends, and my family members in their 60's.

I think the reason I'm most upset about losing TikTok is that it is the death of one of the last collective cultural experiences. I'm 2025 we have so few of those left. We're not watching the same shows or movies as each other, playing the same games, watching the moon landing, etc.

Went to World of Photography today to pick up some new film to try out for my Holga, Pentax, and my Graphlex Super Graphic (not shown). I'm excited to see the results, though I'll probably shoot these rolls over many months 🤣
