It's sort of why I take points about "x being ooc" with a bit if salt; as what a lot of people mean when they say that is "this is shitty writing". And oh LORD are we going to have a lot of shitty writing coming soon to rightfully scream into our pillows about.

For a lot of these characters are decades old, meaning that you could cherry pick any moment from any past run, and have evidence for a completely different interpretation of the character. Talia's and Bruce's relationship, Bruce's waffling in whether or not he commits to being a not shit dad, etc

I feel like that's simultaneously *extremely* true for comics, and also super easily forgotten by comics fans. Characters actions and motivations, narratives, politics, they can all change on a dime depending on who's writing/ who's in charge.

That's the problem with being a late game wizard; things tend to scale up to beat the piss outta you. (Source, skyrim)
