I feel fulfilled. I no longer feel guilty about not drawing. I will pick it back up again during the winter months. Now is the time for veggie gardens and chickens and yard sales.
We don’t celebrate Easter so we were outside working on the yard. I was laying in my kid’s outdoor tent cuddling her and listening to the birds. I thought with all the shit in the world, at least I have this right here, right now.
Having a smoke and a drink on the porch tonight in the breeze. It feels nice.

I setup a tent for my daughter with plushies and pillows and my mom saw it and said to her, “wow! Everything your heart desires!” And the tone felt a bit chastising and I thought “no, everything MY heart desires!” I want her to experience the childhood joys that I wish I had and that’s not spoiling.

I’m so excited to do some cooking! I went to the local Asian grocery store and bought all kinds of sauces, marinades, soup bases, dried shiitake mushrooms and noodles. I haven’t been there in ages.
Now that I’m feeling better I can get back to what matters- making sock puppets for my daughter.
Norovirus is going around and it kicked the ever-loving shit out of me. Never been sicker in my life. This close to calling an ambulance bad. CT scan of my abdomen showed everything inflamed from the virus. Been sick since 8am and at the ER for about 4 hrs. God, water never tasted so good.
I tweaked an older drawing. The reference for this is from a black and white photo of Otto Seppalainen. I loved his intense eyes. I feel like it still needs something or something is a little off?
Omg nobody told me how cute these sets are! They have bunnies and penguins and sheep with little houses, a restaurant, and a clinic and so much more. Ahhh!! 😍 I love these. I got Faye this set. I’m going to live out my childhood dreams with my daughter.
Faye loves watching Spidey and his Amazing Friends on Disney. What’s her takeaway? She’s running around shouting, “I’m the Green Goblin!” You sure are, kiddo.

I love how mundane things become bonding time for Faye and I. She loves to help out, especially in the kitchen. Tonight, I had her pull the stems off the cherries and sort them into bowls. Seeing her delight in something so small warms my heart.

He’s so FLUFFY
Holy cow! As of today, Faye 3’2”! She’s still a few months away from being 3 yrs old too! I predict she’ll be at least 5’8” when she’s grown, and that’s what the calculation from the Mayo Clinic comes out to, but it’s not set in stone. I would not be surprised if it’s closer to 5’10”.
I’m glad I revisited this portrait! My Great Aunt, who is an accomplished artist and has done many, many pet portraits suggested it would look better if I took the drawing all the way to the bottom of the canvas. She was right! Her mind was blown when I told her about drawing digitally.
Working on a new kitchen windowsill setup. My goal for spring is to grow more fresh herbs in the kitchen where I won’t forget about them 🙃
