Hey Dr. Jey, trans journalist here! Feel free to shoot me a DM and we can chat - I want to work to debunk bullshit like this.
So the official position of the white supremacist government is, unsurprisingly, that “race is a biological reality.”
Apparently, not believing this is “insane.”
Important to note that for fascists, ALL the identity categories (race, sex, etc.) have to be “real” and frozen so they can manage them

Putting the burden of proof on trans people and constantly moving the goalposts is also just a large scale execution of the abuse tactic DARVO (Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim & Offender.)
Reminds me a lot of all the polite twittering about not using the word “fascism” last year. The problem is, by the time everyone agrees a harm is done, it’s too late to stop it.
The far right knows that, so they use the discourse as a paralysis tool to delay the spread of actionable info.
Hard agree. Marginalized people are always being asked to PROVE we’re being harmed in the most extreme way possible (see the Kansas ruling this morning, calling harms to trans folks forced into the wrong bathrooms “speculative.”)
As I have said repeatedly, the only move the anti-trans side has is pretending that they've found a scandal, then describe the way medicine (or medical research) works in every other field but trans care in breathless, scandalized tones.
An investigation from Transitics has discovered something highly alarming: Indiana AG Todd Rokita has been making a list of trans people. Following in Kansas’ footsteps, he’s preparing to revoke trans people’s documents by declaring them “falsified records.”

Ruling against trans Kansans, a judge today declined to block Kansas’ extreme anti-trans bathroom ban and ID revocation law after finding the plaintiffs cannot prove that “every restroom visit is fraught with the potential for violence or embarrassment.”

The Onion’s print ads are the best thing in the newspaper.
I think this story is a really good example for people to look at when it comes to understanding bias at NYT. It's not that the reporter, Dana Rubinstein, says anything outright false. But the framing, word choices, etc., add up to an unprofessional and biased account.
Truly a perfect news alert
Persephone is 11 years old.
Persephone just discovered that Mom-Hooman had something called “comb” that is the best itch-skritch EVER.
Persephone now herds Mom-Hooman into the Room of Skritch at least thrice daily, bleating like a goat and nipping at her feet.

Eagerly waiting for Paxton to bring charges against sports bra companies as well, since apparently, not being able to perfectly see the breasts of children is mutilation to him.
ETA: @esqueer.net is the one who originally called attention to this with a screenshot of Paxton’s tweet, where he called Lola Olivia, the binder company affected, an NY-based “child mutilator.”
Some important trans reporting.
The AG mentioned is the ever-despicable Ken Paxton, and the judge who made this call — without even hearing evidence from the company selling binders — is Judge William C. Sowder.
Good and prompt coverage, too.

Yeah. And like with Palestinians, prominent Dems are hesitant to even firmly acknowledge we exist (see utter failures from Dems to answer bad-faith questions like “Can men get pregnant?”)
So much of trans oppression is rooted in erasure — from our IDs, to our health records, to our actual deaths.
Agree with all of this.
Also, on strength: Anecdotally, I’m pretty convinced trans people are much more likely to be seriously politically active than cis folks, whether it’s voting, organizing, etc.
We’re a meaningful voting bloc and coalition, and it’s wild that no one acts like it.
5 celebrities older than ICE:
1. Olivia Rodrigo (2003)
2. Billie Eilish (2001)
3. Jenna Ortega (2002)
4. Sadie Sink (2002)
5. Maddie Ziegler (2002)
It hasn't always been this way. When politicians try to act like our entire society will crumble without ICE, they're lying.

Not for the first time, these are the actions of a thoroughly collaborationist political party.
There is nothing more or else to it.

Funny consequence is it sounds like he’s OK with mutilating kids, like, if their parents sign off on it first? Dulls the fearmongering lol.
Cue Republican vice signaling about Trump not harming trans people enough.

Trump was trying to get at the idea that they’re transing the kids without parental consent, so he wrote, “WITHOUT … APPROVAL OF THE PARENTS.”
Unfortunately, in the same post, he referred to GAC as “mutilation.” (2/3)
