It's a really fun game to make fan art of; there's such a wide variety of characters and settings to choose from, and also there's something really weirdly fun to me about figuring out how to translate all these 8-bit sprites into my art style

You can't really force it and sometimes nothing works, and that sucks and it's annoying, but sometimes all you can do is be kind to yourself and wait it out. I wish I had a better answer.
the two things that help me the most with this problem are making things that are VERY far removed from what I usually do, and completely letting go of the need to make it look good. The weirder and more half-assed, the better. And when that doesn't work, I give up and do something else.

Yeah, it's been absorbing all my free time for months and I still haven't even launched all 50 games yet, everybody who was raving about this game 2 years ago or whatever when it came out was right, the games are all so smart and weird and interesting
yeah, originally I WAS just gonna copy-paste the scene down there but when I did it I didn't like the way it looked shrunk down (too much detail in too small a space, lines way too thin) so I hastily traced over the shrunk-down artwork instead to simplify it and keep the line weight more consistent
