Voting in the Senate in Victoria? Keep numbering till you get to at least 11 to ensure you’ve numbered the smaller parties competing for the sixth senate seat with One Nation.
Many how-to-vote cards suggest only six. But that’s a minimum not a maximum. Visit VoteClimate.net.au for other states.

The daily CO2 number from Mauna Loa exceeded 430 ppm yesterday. This is the first reading above 430 ever recorded.
CO2 levels have not been this high since the Pliocene epoch, 3 to 5 million years ago.
This from @kevinclimate.bsky.social was, according to the senior editor at The Conversation, "too polemical."
I don't know about you, but I see a piece that's forthright but transparently referenced, and critical of the status quo. Maybe the latter is the nub of it.

Lighter Footprints, ACF Boroondara and KCCA have been campaigning for nature and climate for over a decade. People have been becoming more worried about global heating, and this has correlated with a change in voting patterns, moving towards voting for stronger climate action. #KooyongVotes #auspol

The federal election will be the last under the old rules. It’s time to vote in as many independents and smaller parties as possible.
gml.noaa.gov is now non-functional. This is the site that I would go to every month to get updated GHG data for my graphics.
I'm not sure if scrippsco2.ucsd.edu will have access to the CO2 data, or where I will get CH4 data.
I made a local backup of gml last week in anticipation.

The tragedy is not the loss of human civilization, it's what humans are doing to everything else.
A street is orange from flames and you can see the high winds in the palm trees. Sparks fly down the street
A fire truck is engulfed in parks and flames are seen on the hill. The entire photo is red and orange from the fire
A fireman with a hose runs across the front of a house in flames in the background
The inside of a house is a ball of flames. The only visible thing inside is a burning Christmas tree
These extraordinary photos of the LA fires have been shared widely on social media, often without crediting the photographer.
These are all the work of Ethan Swope, an LA-based photojournalist working for AP.

A disaster is a function of three things: the hazard itself, people's vulnerability to the hazard, and their exposure. @rebeccasolnit.bsky.social explains eloquently how the LA fires are a perfect storm of all three. Read more:

Since the news failed do it's job, here's a short summary of the role of climate change and wildfire risk:

Because they are in “The Race “ to become the dominant platform in the world.

Just putting this out there. Can we stop using the term 'cost of living' effective immediately and especially in the run up to the election? It's not supposed to cost something to LIVE. That's our right as human beings. What we should call it is a cost of greed crisis. Let's change the frame.
