🤷 Wikipedia saith turnout for the 2001 primary was "one of the lowest in the city's history" at 22%.

DC doesn't do odd-year elex, but in 2000 turnout was <9% for the presidential in May and 13.5% for the half-of-council primary in Sept. In '02, it was 34.5% for the Mayor/rest-of-Council primary….

...and Kwame Kilpatrick.

(although given his primary was literally on 9/11 maybe the 22% turnout is somewhat excusable....)

we got the kind with the clock you can fill the night before and set to turn on automatically, but they also have ones with just an on/off switch.

depending on how you write your 8s, it's not _so_ terribly different--separate the two loops slightly and you're most of the way there.

DC resident here, reminding you that adult felonies in the District are already prosecuted by the federal Department of Justice, and that DC is one of only a few jurisdictions where a prosecutor can directly charge a minor as an adult without a court hearing.

Also, a reminder that repealing the Home Rule Act would result in the federal government assuming all government oversight over District affairs. It wouldn’t just be “cracking down” on crime. It’d mean trash pickup, filling potholes, local park maintenance, building permitting, etc.

Yeah, that was kind of my point — I hope (wish?) someone has been tracking how much illegal dumping there is in the city of this material that can't just go in curbside pickup, and how that's changed as the special disposal events have gotten less frequent and harder to access.
