AI upscaling is not a feature one should inflict on probe without their explicit consent.

You wouldn’t want me AI summarizing your words with whatever garbage LLM I dug out of a gutter, so do artists the courtesy of granting explicit consent before you fuck up their art.

Youtube has announced that all low-res videos (i.e. older ones) are to be automatically AI upscaled to HD.
Creators can opt-out on a per video basis (but the channel may be long abandoned).

When researching props or behind the scenes, old videos are useful, but not if upscaling produces artefacts.

Why would someone pay $20k for a robot controlled by a human in a remote location to do things more slowly and clumsily when the median wage for a maid or housekeeper is $33k per year, which is typically spread across 10-20 households?

There's a reason I fill my local little free pantries with both staples (beans, rice, canned veg) & treats (baking ingredients, tea, coffee, candy), and it's bc I know what it's like. Give candy AND offer nonperishables if you like, but don't skip the candy. They need that sense of normalcy.

Also y'all, if you're gonna offer both, PLEASE do it in a positive way, OK?
