What's the issue with an RC in Las Vegas?

Oh, I was actually meant to refer more to the ratio, not the total. Spending 20+% of event time on playing vs judging seemed like bad ratio of time. Adding playing as a requirement seems reasonable, making it a sizable priority seems overkill.

Well, you don't have to be an excellent player to play in Comp-level events. You just have to be willing to dump time and money into playing in these events.
However, as we only require HLJ to judge 6-8 multi-day events per year, I'm not sure that adding more 2 events as a player would make sense.

Looking at the MSRP of MTG booster packs over time and adjusting for inflation, packs have historically cost ~$6.25 in 2025 dollars for almost every price change.
