which frustrates me bc historical revisionism is a huge problem these days when ppl will go on tv or social media and deny the reality we can see with our own eyes… and people will still believe them

and people will even do it to the books that are trying to teach us how to avoid being lied to :(

I was just thinking this when I remembered in mdzs how everyone blamed wwx for killing jyl even though they watched her die at the hands of someone else… you could see the historical revision in play out in real time but most readers don’t remember that happening

even silly goofy books like svsss have very profound statements about society and how we see good v bad and align our perceptions of our actions based on who we think we are as people… but some would say it is not meant to be taken seriously :/

I will never understand why people don’t want to take the lessons they learn from a situation in a book and apply it to real life… or to use a fictional situation to contextualize a real situation

this is how we learn from literature!!

idk why so many people always want to separate fiction from reality, when fiction is designed to mimic reality… especially when it’s an even slightly plotted out book and it makes a statement about reality and the society that we live in

During Wei Ying's highschool years all of the major universities with magic programs held tours and events so those looking to attend a school can find a good fit. Wei Ying went to them all despite figuring he'd go to Yunmeng.

but she had moved out for college and couldn’t come back for the weekends, even though she had mailed him a gift. maybe he could just call her all day…

unlike jc, wwx’s birthday fell on a popular holiday, so growing up there was no need to get him a cake when there was candy galore, and no need for a party when there were so many

but now what was he left with? a night in with a family that wouldn’t have fun with him?

but didn’t jc know that isn’t how birthdays work!

of course he finished his hw yesterday so he’d be able to have fun tomorrow

halloween was tomorrow, a saturday, so wwx and jc would technically have the whole day to themselves since they wouldn’t have to worry about school, and he would be able to stay up with jiang shushu for a little since he didn’t have work
