i should probably be going to the ER but it's late enough that i literally don't have the energy to drag myself there and stay awake.

honestly the worst part is going to the ER *at midnight*. if this was 4 pm it would be a no brainer

what's weird is i've had completely painless pressureless ocular migraines before (the ones where you see rainbows). but nothing else sensation wise or anything like this

i am also thinking intracranial hypertension. haha (not laughing). feeling like if it's migraine, probably going to get laughed out, but if it's IH, it's probably justified. does that check out?

also unsure how well equipped they would actually be to screen for IH or diagnose it vs just dismiss it

it's not eustachian tube pressure. i'm not having an allergic reaction. earlier my vision felt a liiiiiittle bit darker than it should and also i was getting random full body tingling

it's like, imagine really bad sinus pressure but without anything resembling a sinus infection. whole head feels ballooned

i don't know what's going on and i'm having a bad time

dealing with, suddenly, tons of pressure inside my head. no idea why it's happening or what to do about it

i love hearing directly from people who work in their fields about what's going on. but a lot of the time it's not them i think that most people hear from, it's people working the science beat at [publication], or a web video host

there's no standard of rigor or factuality (as far as i know) to what we call "science communication" and (as far as i know) no-one has to have actual qualifications to be a "science communicator", even when writing for a major journalistic outlet. that's what i have issue with

well, my thing is: it's weird that there's a category that includes everything from "unqualified presenter reads off script from unqualified writers who read questionable popular science articles" all the way to "literal doctors of a field explain universally-accepted peer-reviewed science"

honestly when someone asks this kind of stuff about me in an assessment i try to answer "as if" i had stuff to be disrupted, hypothetically answering the ways in which it would be disrupted by the thing they're asking me about

frankly i would say that counts as a lot of shit being disrupted

fun fact (💀) as the protocol is currently designed it's literally impossible to do because every person's following is basically a list that they personally control. they built it this way on purpose
