and will have heard the very sad news of his death aged 52.
His daughters would love it if you could subscribe to his channel and get it to 10,000 subscribers ❤️

This made me laugh. Thank you. Perfect. A simple plan is just like colouring inside the lines. You can always rely on your players

So I’m still processing it all. He had a positive impact on so many. I can’t believe he’s no longer here. I hope we’re all able to help others find their way into the hobby like he did. There’s a big gap for me where the games videos and podcast once were

We miss you mate

I missed the chance to go to a gig with him and @judgefredd.bsky.social to see Opeth. It would’ve been awesome. I just couldn’t make it work. Another regret.

And yeah I consider Scott D and Seth proper celebs. And why the hell am I invited to game with them. That’s how inclusive Bud was. And I knew I wasn’t able to stay up late consistently and he was lining people up to take my place in things after he’d given me enough opportunities to change my mind

So a constant positive presence in recent years was my pal Bud. I loved his videos. I’d happily sit listening to him arguing about something gaming related without anything to contribute as his passion and depth of interest were just very interesting to listen to.

The point of all this rambling is it’s because of Bud that I got into gaming again. Made friends. Got back to the table. Filled new shelves with new books. And it was in parallel that in my life I found love, got married, became a dad, changed jobs

So although I only met Bud once. We gamed online a lot over recent years. Spending more and more time talking. To the point where our WFRP group chat was probably one of the chattiest things any of us were in every day. So much constant gaming chat over a few years.

My phone doesn’t have many faces that it has a name for outside my family but Buds is one. Here’s the top photo against his name. All smiles as always

In 2024 I think gods teeth also began. Or maybe early 2025. Life is a blur these days. In the case of both campaigns it was a huge privilege to be invited in. Games run by or alongside a super fan. An inclusive funny welcoming super fan.

In 2022 I got married and the gaming continued at some point in 2023 the enemy within campaign began (I think I have my timings right). My son arrived in 2024 and the group were very kind as I struggled with the fatigue

Was to help others find the fun in it. And connect. I ended up playing in an early playtest for what became his hit viral. Even with his encouragement I wrote and ran a WEG Star Wars D6 scenario at an online grogmeet

It has been said by others and I’d like to repeat the observation that Bud was a catalyst for people around this hobby. I found his videos which led to being invited to play in groups. And meet other groups. I met so many people via Bud I had a sense from him that part of ones duty with the hobby

How it started for me…

Somehow I stumbled upon Buds YouTube channel back in early 2020 at the start of lockdown. Alone and single in a flat in a new city. His long videos were welcome company. Joining his patreon led to the discord which led to finding a community

We only met up once in person. Our WFRP group all travelled to UKGE in 2024. We’d been playing WFRP for months by that time. Our first time rolling dice together in the margins of a great event.

I was also somewhere deep into the WFRP enemy within campaign alongside Bud as a player (dwarf slayer) and his good pal from the podcast Griff as GM for a group including @pookie-uk.bsky.social @judgefredd.bsky.social

Many here lost a good friend recently when @budsrpgreview.bsky.social passed away

My wife and I enjoyed Picard season 3. Just finished. Not super into the previous seasons. They were ok. I watched and enjoyed TNG back in the day. My wife is new to trek. Her fav show is Battlestar Galactica (2004). We both enjoyed the finale. Best season by far. Enjoyable sci fi. Recommend.

Watched the show ‘invincible’ seasons 1-3 for the first time recently. Enjoyed. Would recommend. Watching a one hour special episode and then I’ve seen it all … until new stuff drops I guess. Any fans here?
