As #BlackHistoryMonth closes, we honor the Black leadership behind AGOA - a policy that links trade to jobs, income, and food security.

Passed in 2000 and newly extended another year, AGOA reflects how advocacy and vision can expand opportunity.

SNAP reaches 41 million people. As of FY23 almost 80 percent of SNAP households had members who were children, older adults, or non-elderly adults with disabilities. Removing access to SNAP should only happen when households have stable sources of nutrition. #SOTU

Organized advocacy works.

Offering of Letters brings people together to write and send letters to Congress at the same time so those voices are heard.

As we celebrate, we also recognize the work ahead. Hunger continues to disproportionately impact Black communities in the U.S. and globally.

Bread members gathered at Ebenezer Baptist Church for the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. commemorative service.

The service concluded with a benediction from Rev. Eugene Cho, who reminded us of Dr. King’s enduring call to justice, compassion, and moral leadership.

Dr. King had a gift for asking the kind of questions that still matter decades later. β€œWhat are you doing for others?” is a reminder that progress takes action. We’re guided by that idea as we work to advance policies that address the root causes of hunger and help turn urgency into impact. #MLKDay
