Graphic for the upcoming “Rick Steves’ Europe: A Symphonic Journey” tour. Rick Steves smiles in a suit, gesturing with both hands, in front of an orchestra wearing red jackets. Below the Rick Steves logo, the large orange word “EUROPE” fills the top, over laid by a cream banner that says, “A SYMPHONIC JOURNEY,” with “ON TOUR” below. Tour dates and cities are then listed: Nov. 6 Raleigh, NC Nov. 7 Raleigh, NC Nov. 8 Portland, ME Nov. 9 Portland, ME Nov. 10 Columbia, SC Nov. 13 Charleston, SC Nov. 14 Phoenix, AZ Nov. 15 Phoenix, AZ Nov. 16 Phoenix, AZ Mar. 27 Detroit, MI Mar. 28 Detroit, MI Mar. 29 Merrifield, VA And the footer reads: “Ticket info at ricksteves.com/where”
I’ve performed "A Symphonic Journey" with great orchestras across the country — and next, I’m bringing the show to North & South Carolina, Maine, Arizona, Michigan & Virginia.
Ticket info is at www.ricksteves.com/where — or stream the concert for free on the @pbs.org app or at www.ricksteves.com/tv

For more than 20 years, I’ve worked with @normlorg.bsky.social to end the prohibition against marijuana across this great country, one state at a time.
Our hard work and smart advocacy are making a big difference, and we could use your help — especially now! Learn more at www.norml.org.
I’m a hardworking, taxpaying, churchgoing, grandkid-raising American citizen. And if I work all day long and want to go home, smoke a joint & just stare at the fireplace for 3 hours…that’s my civil liberty.
@sarapayan.bsky.social reports on my mission to end America's prohibition on marijuana:
On his recent Best of Bulgaria tour, Rick Steves’ Europe team member Gabe Gunnink visited one of the country’s few gay bars. This Pride Month, he reflects on the local connections he made on the dancefloor and what Americans today can learn from the unsteady history of human rights in Europe.

Verdi’s “Nabucco: Overture” stoked the Italian cry for statehood like a bugle call. Travel with me back to the Risorgimento in this clip from "Rick Steves’ Europe: A Symphonic Journey."

If you want to be a savvier consumer of the news as Israel and Iran duke it out in 2025 and as the USA considers joining in, please educate yourself by watching this special: www.ricksteves.com/watch-iran. Shalom and Salam.
17.06.2025 21:17 — 👍 923 🔁 128 💬 21 📌 11Rather than getting mired in politics, this documentary simply humanizes the Iranians by telling their story — the story of a society America knows almost nothing about, even though it’s constantly in our news... the story of a proud nation with a rich and complex heritage.
17.06.2025 21:17 — 👍 942 🔁 120 💬 7 📌 4I remember the moment it dawned on me, in the nasty wake of 9/11 — watching American bombs light up the sky over Baghdad on the evening news — that I could do my country a service by producing a one-hour TV special on Iran, which I feared Bush might target next.
17.06.2025 21:17 — 👍 574 🔁 42 💬 1 📌 1The news that Trump is flirting with the idea of bombing Iran breaks my heart. Why? Because, along with the humanity of the Israeli people — which I shared in my 2014 Holy Land special — I recognize the humanity of the Iranian people, who have lived under a brutal theocratic dictatorship since 1979.
17.06.2025 21:17 — 👍 780 🔁 70 💬 5 📌 1In the spring of 2008, I feared America was on the verge of war with Iran — and, believing that it’s good style to get to know people before you bomb them, I made “Rick Steves’ Iran,” a one-hour special that could (and would) only debut on PBS. Sadly, this special has become pertinent again today.

At its 1882 premiere, it struck a chord with the Czechs, who felt its flowing melody evoked the struggle of their small nation surrounded by mightier neighbors. Czechs still get a lump in their throats when they hear it today.
