as a writer it's vitally important to have 3-10 wips so that when one of them isn't working you can cycle through the others in proxy productivity. this will allow you to continuously be Not Quite Done with so many projects at the same time

In addition to collecting queer material yourself please request it for your local library as well if your library accepts purchase requests, especially if you are in a left-leaning area- this can make material available through interlibrary loan to people in areas where libraries will not buy it

the most frustrating part of my journey as a fic writer was the period when i was a strong enough writer that i could see a skill gap between my fics and the fics i loved most, but i couldn't figure out how to bridge that gap.
