Can I be honest? Lol. I love books but I hate people gifting me books on holidays / my birthday. They go for fiction instead of non fiction, and it's almost always books I'd DNF if they weren't gifts.

I think it just depends on people's personalities. I'm more like you. Some people really thrive and feel motivated when they have tangible goals. Doesn't mean, they don't enjoy reading. They just enjoy it differently.
