Well this a barrel of laughs that in no way will make a tech mess trying to do daft policy.....

Oil prices wouldn't be all over the news today if more of our economy was powered by local, secure renewable energy.
This isn't an "energy crisis". It's a fossil fuel crisis.
44% of UK electricity came from renewables in 2025. More of that plus an electrified economy => no more oil shocks.
I just care about social liberalism with sensible economics.
We have FPTP which could give the mad Right power with less than a third the vote. I don't care if Lib/Lab/Greens/SMP/Plaid Cymru/YourParty, merge, or arrange packs, or what, but they MUST NOT LOSE due to infighting over purity.
I think just score/range voting could be an easy fix. It stops voting splitting being an issue and would mean keeping local MPs. Smaller change. The next step would be change Parliament to be half national MPs on proportion of the vote and half local MPs on their score. But that's a bigger change.
Some places block almost everything but dns and http(s). What I have for that is ssh on a websocket as another domain on my Apache. You can then put any tunnel you like over ssh. (Also, completely stops the bots trying to get in, for now.) The rest of the time, raw WireGuard is my go to.
An entertainment channel that has "news" in the title but isn't bound by news laws. That has politicians as presenters. Oh and is sewer of 'ism's.
Ofcom haven't been doing their job.
A friend of mine has written a book on EMC. I've only read the first few pages so far as I have another book already on the go (MapMen's This Way Up), but it's jump the queue to be next.
It's a work of art as much as an EMC book and a window into his mind!

Same money.
Yep. Though I'd argue the tech monopolies hurt Americans as well as everyone else.
Damn it! π
Doesn't help when the populous can't see through it and vote against their own interest.
It requires the rule of law. When a market is left lawless, it becomes ruled by war lords, who set *their* laws, just like anywhere/anywhen else.
Free Markets don't just happen. It's not a natural state. If you want a Free Market (you do), you have to keep it free with laws and actions.
Out of the two, Polanski is a far better human than Farage, but neither should be near power. Polanski is also giving simple answer to hard questions. It's just his answers are way nicer. Both are telling people what they want hear. I do like that Polanski is pulling the Overton window back left.
Monopolist pos is a general pos? I'm shocked, shocked I tell you.
More like this please, on both sides of the pound. No one needs billions.
FPTP means vote splitting. A lot of the right/leave vote has gone to Reform as the Tories failed so bad. The left/remain vote is split over Green, Lab and Lib. The top priority of Labour should getting rid of FPTP. Country before party.
First Past the Post can no longer deliver real mandates - only chaos. 60% of Brits want it scrapped.
Yet the Representation of the People Bill wonβt even touch our voting system, which leaves millions unrepresented.
Tell Keir Starmer to change this.

FPTP is a major weakness. Almost as bad as the American duopoly problem.
BUT, by the time the UK election comes around, the US will have had theirs and MAGA should have fallen apart and the swing back be in full force. Without fear of retribution, Farage's "friendship" with Trump will be weaponized.
This is a very good piece! I recommend a read!π€π
Though the topic is the current situation in πΊπΈ, we in π¬π§ also need to take care! We mustnβt allow the hate of ReformUK to take over our politics. Each one of us can make a difference if we so choose!βποΈπ«Άπ»

Google really don't get the reason many choose their platform over the only other choice in the duopoly..

No. Mongrel European. Load of English, some German, unknown amount of what is the family says is Portuguese. That's the olive skin that seams strong in that side of the family. Most of my kids have it too. We live in a pale place so my kids are always told the look foreign!
He amuses me. Saw a show of his last year and enjoyed his serious role in Upright.
Feels like this should be here : m.youtube.com/watch?v=I7Um...
Though to be honest, I'm ginger, and it's never been a big deal (UK). Maybe because I'm oliver skinned in the sun and my ginger went from bright to dark in my teens. I just treat it all as a laugh to be honest!
Part of the myth of Ring is that this is MY camera on MY door--but when you see a map and realize that there are a hundred in your neighborhood and they're all connected by a corporation that serves the police, the illusion dissolves.
Oh, the grand old duke of york

He ββββββββββββββββββ

We need a better voting system. It is our voting system why we keep governments the majority don't want. If it's Reform next time, judging by their MAGA/Epstein friends, there may not be another time after that.
Not an open source solution being promoted, so they aren't completely different, but still a good ad pointing out the problem with the market leaders.
