Another, longer, virtual event series could be Pomodoro Party/Writing Sessions ⏳📝
Like mini writing retreats, using productivity techniques like body-doubling - creating a space for finally starting (or finishing) that thing we’ve all said “we’ll get done by monday” for the last three months!

One idea we have for a casual event, hosted virtually via our Circle page, is a Cyber Coffee & Chat ☕ 💻
These would be occasional informal catch ups for our member community. These could be a relaxed 30-45 minute morning or lunchtime period where section members can drop in, connect, and catch up.

Graphic with large bold text reading “what do you want?” with a yellow underline beneath “you.” Below it: “future cyber section member events.” A row of oval labels lists options including “online learning?”, “coffee mornings?”, “networking?”, “writing sessions?” and “feedback ideas?” At the bottom left is the British Psychological Society Cyberpsychology Section logo featuring a small illustrated figure with a laptop. At the bottom right is a stylized calendar with a blue pushpin.
🗣️ We want to hear your thoughts about future cyber section events!
We've been putting together some ideas, but we want to plan things that you want to be part of - so we’d love to hear your feedback about the kind of events our members would enjoy and be interested in attending 🌟

Mindfulness in a Digital World
This book addresses the concerns about digital dependency that pervade post-industrial societies, particularly in relation to the negative impact
... together, these strands inform his view that mindful, intentional engagement is essential if emerging #technologies (such as #AI) are to enhance, rather than diminish, human #flourishing 🌟

His most recent work entitled 'Mindfulness in a Digital World' extends this perspective, showing how the design of digital environments can erode our attentional autonomy and lead to mindless involvement in the #digitalworld...

His work reveals that digital technologies are never neutral; they shape and reflect our sense of who we are, how we achieve agency in the world and how we relate to others. All within a broader context of culture, economic and political influence.
