Still, when I saw those countless bandes dessinées today (even though I couldn’t read them and just focused on the art), I remembered the style and direction I had once longed for. If possible, I’d love to go there every single day. My heart races just thinking about it.

It’s not that everything I’ve done feels meaningless; it’s just that my path now feels slightly off from where I once wanted to go. And that difference makes me feel both a sense of regret and a fear that I can never return to who I used to be.

Thanks to that, I’ve managed to make a living, and I don’t regret it — I’ve learned new skills and grown in different ways. But I can’t help feeling that I’ve lost part of my own identity.

That place reminded me of the direction I once dreamed my art would take.

My style has often been said to differ from the mainstream Korean comics market, and because my current artistic direction doesn’t easily translate into income here, I had no choice but to restrain myself and adjust course.
