I've been saying for a few years now that the people I respect most in American politics are anti-Trump Republicans, who are willing to vote against their beliefs for the greater good.

People I respect the least are progressives who stay home/vote 3rd party with Trump on the ballot.

It's also instructive to look at the response to Mamdani hanging out with Trump, smiling - "oh, he's got Trump under his spell! What a genius!" Reaction could've been the same to Cheney - "Harris won her over!"But oh no, now I've inserted gender into the chat.

At this point, I just see it as a sign of a guilty conscience because the fucking Cheneys did more to oppose fascism than they did.

It's 2026 and I am officially out of patience for people who still believe that Cheney endorsing Harris in 2024 was an example of Harris swinging right rather than Cheney correctly thinking that Trump was so dangerous she would rather stand with a person from across the aisle than promote him.
