Yesterday, five-year-old Liam and his dad Adrian were released from Dilley detention center. I picked them up last night and escorted them back to Minnesota this morning.

Liam is now home. With his hat and his backpack.

A small green heron clings to a branch, just inches above the water, watching intently for a small fish to swim near to grab for a morning snack. The bird and branch are a almost mirror reflection in the water.

First time down at my usual park in a bit, found a green heron getting some morning snacks.
