myself, though. I did it all. Even pulling a 54.2 50 at the very end when my arms where lead.
05.02.2026 20:54 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I know. So I was always getting to the wall just when the coach was launching everyone on the next 100 or 50. Thus, I ended up going nonstop for about 600 yards with pretty much no breaks. Steady or strong rapidly degenerated into just grim determination.
I'm proud of
2,175 yards in the pool today. More or less. That number makes no sense because the GPS doesn't work indoors and it's going off turns. Which are probably hard to figure out from a watch that's being flung around with great violence all the time.
Today was a lot. I'm slow.
cold. My HR kept pulling me back so I bled back from a flat 9 but still. I need to figure out how to just keep doing this.
Three miles. Still in recovery but wow, it felt good today.
No picture today. It never got a chance to focus.
Something happened out there this morning. I'm not sure how but I found a form that felt like nothing. I surprised myself to be sub 8 for the last two intervals.
Trying to do that for the last mile, it was so easy I got
moving but erf.

04.02.2026 17:50 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Today was my first actual bike ride. Not just faffing around for some amount of time, trying to not fall down too badly and die. But actually covering a distance, and trying to not fall down and die.

being able to do lengths in all four strokes. Getting there. 2,100 yards.
03.02.2026 20:55 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Lots going on in the pool today. My cap came off in the middle of the lane, taking my goggles with it, which was fun to deal with. I did 300 yards of butterfly, which is probably more than I've done in my life before today.
Fast I am not but I'm getting better at at least
Today was remarkably better. I didn't want to go. Woke up far too early. Felt groggy and slow. Still worried about being ruined.
But when I finally dragged myself up and went, things were much better. Not completely back, no, but I seem to have turned a corner.
4.5 miles.
I know I take the same photo a lot but it was just gorgeous this morning.
I am seriously cooked from this weekend. Today's run was a struggle start to finish. Erf. Four miles.
coach had programmed. But I finished it. Sure, my legs are like lead right now but 30KM over two days isn't even a full marathon. Still building back up.
33 miles for the week, which sounds impressive but is actually low. I missed one Tuesday due to the brutal jet lag from Singapore.
Long weekend run so selfie, but also location of the bunny that ran across the trail in front of me just before I turned around.
Twelve miles is a lot. Twelve miles after a 10K the previous day is a LOT. Erf. There was no way I was going to hold the higher heart rates my

31.01.2026 21:42 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I finished another 10K this morning. Again, within about two minutes of my PR. And I did not push very hard until the very end. This was honestly just another daily run. I'm deep into the build up for my first full marathon back after the injury.
But there is something
The older I get, the more I like being a wolf.

I thought I took a picture today but it seems I failed to actually do so. It's difficult to use the phone while running.
More sleep helps. Still recovering but I feel so much better. 4.5 miles with strides this morning.
It felt very good to get back up on the ball and stay there for some four miles.
6.5 miles, last one fast.
I had the worst jet lag of my life returning from this trip. This seems to be finally breaking and I got nearly 6 hours last night. Not enough but so much better.
So, I went hard on this run. This is a close peak for my 10K Saturday. That's not a big race for me but still.
I'm back! And I have pictures! Starting there then VR later. I've missed you all so much! More wolf! [18+] !links

Back in the pool. 2,075 yards. Lots of fun stuff like sprints halfway with a bucket full of water strapped to my waist by pulleys. And I got a round of applause for pulling a 43 second 50 yard swim at the very end. Feels good.

And, while I did sleep some, I'm still fighting a massive 15 hour jet lag that's taking a lot longer than when I came back from Sydney. But that was a decade ago and my activity level was vastly different.
No run today.
Ok, I really want Good Boy Mode for the next two months after the disruptions of the holidays and this trip. But that also means being rational. Today's run was slated to be extraordinarily long for a weekday at nearly nine miles. I just don't have enough time for that on a

higher than an 'easy' pace.
Yes, I'm utterly wiped out and quite sore, but I'm still glad I went. I missed enough this week. Twelve miles today. 23 for the week.
It's been nearly a year since I was six miles deep on my bike path. Today was far from ideal. Unable to sleep and still jet lagged, I got all of four hours. But, after some prudent advice, I went anyway and I'm glad I did. The heart rates today were brutal. All considerably
