Look, I'm firmly on the side of "we don't need an app for goddamn everything."
All I'm saying is that it'd be helpful to see how much charge the vibrator has left.

Word nerd. Prone to deep analysis of geeky subjects. Consistently enraged by character limits. Proclaimed "vindictive thumb" by a fortune teller. Gr8 m8.

The Long Walk is one of the best Stephen King adaptations. It's a brutal, beautiful portrayal of male friendships and an appropriately violent condemnation of toxic masculinity & authoritarianism.
Every actor gets a chance to shine, and they're all powerhouses. I've never hated Mark Hamill more. ๐
I just think they shouldn't be allowed to use the name "Ripper" if the serial killer's preferred weapon is a blunt force instrument.

Friend: Any plans tonight?
Me: Well, based on internet reactions, I'll be intentionally watching South Park for the first time in *checks watch* 20 years.
I mean, do you do that regularly? While blocking a parking lot? With your car in gear? ๐

Thinking that couldn't possibly be aimed at me, I turned from the minimart toward a woman who had just backed out of a spot, was mid-parking lot, had a kid in the back, & was leaning over the passenger seat to yell to (at?) me out the window.
"You look really pretty in that green!"
Apparently the new Pope is a Francis-type who preaches tolerance and compassion.
In this time of an alarming worldwide trend toward right-wing extremism, it's a relief to know the major geo-political power we can count on to reject authoritarianism is... *checks notes*... the Catholic Church.
He looks deeply uncomfortable at least. What's the goal here? To shut down all/most of the FBI because they'll have no money? Or to just buck Congress entirely and spend whatever they want? Congress controls the budget, but how does the *money* work? This is a level of econ I never thought I'd need.

MASSIVE book hangover: historical gothic with a modern sensibility in audio form. Top artists in 2 different mediums combining their talents = *chef's kiss.* I never expected a "companion novella" to be the most swoon-worthy, romantic thing I've ever read (listened to), but here we are.
