In just one week, Sweden has boarded two suspected shadow fleet vessels in the Baltic Sea.
“We don’t want ships with poor seaworthiness sailing in Swedish waters,” says Civil Defence Minister Carl-Oskar Bohlin til @svtnyheter.bsky.social

It’s hardly surprising if people in Europe are pinching themselves and asking: whose side is the U.S. really on?
Russia is raking in oil money - while the Ukrainian state is balancing on the edge of bankruptcy.
Russia has announced a missile exercise in the Barents Sea.
Experts say it could be interpreted as a response to a Norwegian-led NATO exercise.

It seems the velvet gloves are coming off, at least in some cases, when dealing with Russia’s shadow fleet in the Baltic Sea.
Here’s one of them 🇸🇪👊
Worth watching whether this affects the presidential bromance between Putin and Trump.
Listening interested! I also noticed the smokescreen coming from Alsace in Copenhagen harbour thursday both morning and evening and I’m interested why? Why all the smoke, some kind of cooling, or…?
(2/2) Earlier, Chairman Caine said cyber operations were methodically used to blind Iran’s defenses.
He added that the campaign has featured a series of “combat firsts” - new weapons and methods tested in real battle.
(1/2) At a press briefing on Operation Epic Fury, SecWar Hegseth confirmed that U.S. soldiers were killed when an Iranian missile penetrated and struck a reinforced tactical operations center.

Doubts over whether Denmark is truly covered by the U.S. nuclear umbrella are now opening an entirely new debate:
Should Denmark seek a role in European nuclear deterrence - or reconsider decades of restrictions on nuclear weapons on Danish soil?

Ha ha ha, ja. Sandt!
An overlooked but notable detail in Denmark’s new economic plan:
All proceeds from the sale of F-16 fighter jets to Argentina will be donated to Ukraine.
That’s 1.8 billion DKK (€241m / $270m) over four years.
#Denmark #F16 #Defense #Argentina
Over 11 years - from 2024 to 2035 - Danish governments will have allocated a total of 717 billion DKK to defence and security 🇩🇰🛡️
Is this the largest compressed investment in a single sector in Danish history? 🤔📊
Four years of war in Ukraine.
Four years of unimaginable suffering.
Four years of reporting on how all our lives changed - Ukrainians’ most of all.

From 2030, Denmark will meet NATO’s 3.5% of GDP target on pure military spending.
Between 2027–2029, spending will already reach 3.41–3.47% of GD.
Effectively at the threshold.
2️⃣
Including the new funding, Denmark plans to spend around 120 billion DKK annually (€16.1bn / $18bn) on core defense.
That’s nearly three times the annual budgets before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

Denmark is dramatically increasing defense spending in a new economic plan.
An additional 250 billion DKK (€33.5bn / $37.5bn) is being added to the current roadmap.
252 billion DKK (€33.8bn / $37.8bn) over the longer term.
Denmark is moving toward a full “total defense” model - where all of society must be ready for crisis.
But municipalities warn key questions remain unanswered:
Who communicates? Who protects the vulnerable?

Okay, wow — this clip… 👌😳
Nearly cinematic in its framing… and that delayed “brrr” from the F-16 autocannon. Potentially one of the Danish-donated aircraft 🇩🇰🇺🇦

Nej. Enig. Ikke sikker på den glider let ned.
Denmark has now passed NATO’s 3.5% of GDP benchmark for 2026.
The threshold was crossed with a 3 billion DKK (€402m / $450m) donation to 🇺🇦, bringing Denmark’s total 🇺🇦 support this year to 13 billion DKK (€1.74bn / $1.95bn).
Imagine if the rest of Europe mirrored Denmark’s level of support.
