The first year of the comic is brilliant. Chaykin firing on all cylinders. The next year or so is still very good, but not quite at that level. After that he left and First turned the book over to others and it was a pale imitation.

It looks like it basically just confirms HJ as Rolf Müller, right? So it’s not even really a mystery meant to be solved. 🤷‍♂️

Listening to this Dove Ellis record. There's two songs (Pale Song and Heaven Has No Wings) I think are really great, and the rest is quite pleasant. Reminds me of someone specific I can't place. Not Jeff Buckley, not Rufus Wainwright, not Travis. I mean, all of them, but someone else too.

Really hoping New Japan brings Saya over for the show in New Jersey next month.

Oh I am so happy to help you discover it! The second one is very good too, though I don't like the sequencing (I don't think the first track makes for a good opener). Their first album is IMHO near perfect, the second just below that. Wish they had found a bigger audience!

All right, this is by Houndstooth, one of the best bands I’ve ever heard. They only released two albums but the were fantastic. This song is from their second album (their first record is the better of the two but this one might be their best song).
