And there are researchers who study this topic, not suggesting I’m novel in suggesting this (quite the contrary). A systematic review in Frontiers in Psychiatry (Maguite et al., 2024) is a place to start.

There is also an interesting conversation to be had about “theory of mind” and overlaps between psychopathy and neurodivergence/autism, without implying that ND folks are all sociopaths!

As someone with a Ph.D. who studied psychopathy and also has read it in French and English (though long before the grad degree), I agree. Doesn’t read as sociopath to me. Could be read as neurodivergence, could be read as commentary on absurdity of human actions.

The thing about Camus' The Stranger is I can't help reading Meursault as neurodivergent rather than sociopathic as some have found him.

When he reluctantly justifies the murder, he tries to explain that he was overwhelmed by the Sun. The sensory overload was described in minute detail.

KFF graphic featuring a quote from Latoya Hill, senior policy manager with KFF’s Racial Equity and Health Policy Program. It says, “While the exact reasons for the recent declines in early prenatal care use are not known, disparities in maternal and infant health reflect underlying inequities in insurance coverage, access to care, and social and economic factors. Overall, Hispanic, Black, AIAN, and NHPI people are more likely to be uninsured compared to White people, and these gaps will likely widen due to expected losses in Medicaid and ACA Marketplace coverage under the 2025 reconciliation law.”

⚡ KFF’s Latoya Hill explains how new data showing declines in use of early prenatal care, particularly among people of color, points to widening disparities in maternal and infant health. #QuickTake https://on.kff.org/3MVuOn3

Yesterday, those who teach Intro to Sociology at Florida colleges (as opposed to universities) received a ready-made curriculum from the state and were ordered to teach it.

Yes, you read that correctly. The *state* is enforcing a curriculum on college profs, complete w/ the following restrictions:

This is part of a pattern that is impeachable: Trump cuts previously appropriated Congressional funds, but only to states led by Democrats (California, Colorado, Illinois and Minnesota).

What this ad doesn’t show: Ring also rolled out facial recognition for humans. I wrote to them months ago about this. Their answer? They won’t ask for your consent.

This definitely isn’t about dogs—it’s about mass surveillance.

In the late 1800s, when people started using the word "donate", it made some folks mad. The word is a back-formation of the word "donation" and was seen as a degradation of English.
