Offensive security nut job (you don’t *have* to be mad to work here, so I’m told 😝). Lock collector, and occasional locksport competitor. Appropriately obsessed with dogs…

The bottom view of some 3D printed gridfinity storage bins (one 2x4x6, one 3x4x6). I started printing them in red, but ran out of filament just after the base was done and had to swap to white - so have ended up with two tone bins with red bases and white walls. It looks quite good, considering it was an accident. lol.

A fortuitous place to end a roll of red filament - almost looks like I meant it - but as with everything else, a complete fluke! 🤣 The march to gridfinity’ise my filing cabinets and sort out my lock collection pushes ever onwards… one kg of PLA at a time… 😝 #3dprinting #gridfinity #sideproject 😝

I really really wish I’d printed it the other way up - so I could claim having the blue at the front was a deliberate design decision… 😝🤣

Finally finished printing - and it’s subtle enough that I don’t think anyone will notice the colour change where I ran out of clear transparent filament and had to swap it… 😝🤣 Need to get on and print the pins/circlip and then work out what springs I need… #locksport #3dprint

Thankfully, my initial requirements are trivially simple, and I should be able to find the necessary dimensions easily. Less good, my free time is considerably less readily available, so learning and practice will be sporadic Still, for now, I’m quite happy being the dumbest person in the room. 🤣

Yup, mind blown. How can pictures off the Internet now be physical objects I can hold in my hand? Next step, need to learn some 3D modelling so I can start producing my own objects, rather than just using others’… #3dprinting

Sure, would be fun to try something other than calibration prints, euro cylinder holders and safe mounts… 😎 Is it already online somewhere, or do I need to get it from you direct?

A photo of a Creality K1C 3D printer box and three parcels containing printing filament that had just been dropped off by courier. A medium sized brown and white dog (~40kg) is partially obscured by the box, as he’s having a good sniff at the side away from the camera. His bright yellow harness, lead, and muzzle are being partially squished by the box, as it was heavy and I kinda put it down in a hurry when the courier dropped it off. The rest of the hallway, as my house (and arguably life), is a mess, so I’ll not dwell on describing that in too much detail. Composition is terrible, but I’m no David Bailey. Taken on an old iPhone, with a level of quality appropriate for hardware of the time.

Many apologies, I’d planned to get some lock stuff done over the weekend and early this week, but then, I got somewhat distracted… 😎

My first attempt at making a Bogotá style triple peak pick from a recycled street sweeper blade (bottom), with two commercial picks (either from Storm, or Mad Bob, I forget which) above it. Mine is not quite as refined, but not bad for a first attempt with only a small file and some sandpaper.

… as an aside, I’ve gone from owning a few bristles that I’d found on the side of the street to now having literally hundreds and hundreds (maybe thousands? 😝) of the things after recycling whole brush heads… if anyone is after any, give me a shout…

Annoyingly, I can find the receipt, I can’t find any archived messages where i specified the title. Fairly sure it started “Gateshead isn’t in Newcastle…” and ended “… love, autom8on.” - but can’t remember if there was anything in the middle. Surely this should be recorded for posterity somewhere? 😝

Ah, yes - BSides NotNewcastle, I remember it well(ish). First time Moon on A Stick ever sponsored an event. Obviously, given the location (now it actually is in Newcastle and not south of the river anymore 😝), I’m somewhat biased (#GeordieBornAndBred). Must try and make it again properly next year…

Guinness World Records recorded 156.5kg for the world’s heaviest dog (Zorba - an old English mastiff - en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zorba_(... ) in 1989. Have they really gotten that much bigger since then? My pup is 40kg - wild to imagine a dog the size of 5 of him put together…
