Changes coming to Health Department - Maryland Matters Maryland Health Secretary Laura Herrera Scott will leave the position she has held since Moore named her in January 2023, multiple sources tell Maryland Matters.

Breaking: Gov. Moore to announce Health Sec. Laura Herrera Scott will depart by the end of the month. Dep. Sec Ryan Moran will act in her stead. Moore is expected to tap Meena Seshamani, as a permanent replacement.

Highway deaths in Maryland continue to trend up. The state recorded 38 more motor vehicle crash-related deaths in Nov. bringing the total to 554 so far this year, a 7.6% increase year over year, according to the MVA.
