Born #OnThisDay in 1920 was Helen Muir FRS. Muir might have become a doctor, were it not for the influence of her tutor, Dorothy Hodgkin FRS, who convinced her to study chemistry. She went on to become a leading rheumatologist and did pioneering work on the causes of osteoarthritis. #WomenInSTEM
