Fully draining is excessive and is done when fluid contamination is noted during regular bleed. Bleed involves a syringe on both ends of system. Moving the fluid from one syringe to the other which removes air and rebuilds pressure. Really only need to bleed if there is too much play in lever.

Just be aware that there are two types of brake fluids used in the hydraulic brakes. SRAM uses DOT type brake fluid which requires special handling. Most others use a mineral oil. I do it so infrequently I have to watch videos to reteach myself each time.

I've had a yearly cycling goal of 6000 miles for over a decade now. I've missed it by a few hundred miles a couple years. This is the first time I've hit 6K. I've also bumped it a few times this year as I've gotten way ahead of pace for the current goal.
