Yet, in Balochistan, these principles have been under siege for decades. The Baloch people, in their homeland rich with cultural and historical heritage, are facing genocide on an unimaginable scale. Enforced disappearances, mutilated bodies, extrajudicial killings, and relentless state violence have become the grim reality of life in Balochistan. For over seven painful decades, the state’s policy to subdue the Baloch by force has only grown more brutal, with an alarming increase in enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings. In November alone, 88 Baloch were forcibly disappeared, and 8 were killed extrajudicially. The highest number of cases—40—was recorded in the Makran region, followed by 30 cases in the Sarawan region. Other regions also reported similar incidents, though the actual number of enforced disappearances remains unknown due to numerous state-imposed restrictions. The recent large-scale military operation across Balochistan is a stark reminder of the ongoing human rights abuses and genocide targeting the Baloch people. Despite these atrocities, the Baloch continue to resist this grave abuse of their fundamental rights. Currently, three sit-in protests are underway in various cities across Balochistan. The actions of the state and its law enforcement agencies have systematically stripped the Baloch of their universal fundamental human rights. The rights outlined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Geneva Conventions, and other international conventions are nonexistent for the Baloch nation. Thus, here we stand, resisting state atrocities and defending our fundamental human rights by every possible means. Accordingly, on this 10th of December, BYC has sche…

The military establishment, driven by its insatiable thirst for control, has turned the region into a battlefield, creating endless cycles of suffering and silencing the voices of dissent. What we see today is not new, but the continuation of decades old policies designed to oppress the Baloch people, exploit their resources and perpetuate their genocide. These actions are carried out under the pretense of national security, but their real purpose is to maintain dominance and deny the people of Balochistan their rightful say over their land and future. Balochistan, a region long scarred by violence, now faces yet another wave of brutal military operations. For decades, the Baloch people have endured unimaginable horrors of enforced disappearances, mutilated dead bodies, extrajudicial killings, and the systematic erasure of entire communities. These policies have already crippled the region, and this latest operation promises only more of the same, but on an even harsher scale. A whole generation risks being destroyed not just through the violence inflicted by the state but by the loss of opportunities to grow, learn, and thrive. Children are being raised in a landscape of fear and insecurity, while the youth, robbed of education and livelihoods, are left with little choice but to resist. Entire communities are paralyzed, caught in an endless cycle of poverty, grief, climate catastrophes, and survival. This is not just a military operation; it is an attack on the very existence of the Baloch nation. By targeting its economy, destroying its social fabric, and silencing its voices, the state is effectively waging a war to erase Baloch identity. This strategy is no different from the coloni…
