I self-published an oracle deck of original intuitive artworks created to embody the message of a tarot reading. It took over a year from inception to the final product.

A question I hear a lot is, "What is an oracle deck?"

An oracle deck is a collection of illustrated cards with different meanings associated with each image.

The tunnel vision of “An Abundance of Caution” also impedes its view of teachers, for whom Zweig reserves some of his sharpest ire. “No other group of essential professionals en masse fought—and succeeded—to not have to show up for work,” he writes. This is false: teachers showed up day after day for Zoom school, which was as much of a miserable, demoralizing disaster for them as it was for students and their parents. My daughter’s public-school kindergarten teacher poured heroic volumes of stamina and good cheer into the doomed task of teaching anything to two dozen unmutable five-year-olds through a glitchy screen. Never in my life have I shown up for work as hard as she did that spring.

Critiques of how teachers dealt with the pandemic tend to erase the hard work we did when remote--and almost without exception erase the experience of most teachers, who were required to and did in fact show up in classrooms every day starting in August 2020.

The greatest challenge in creating a satisfying final product, was in finding an opaque medium and then finishing it with a protective sealant so that it can be enjoyed for years to come.

The Luna Moth symbolizes transformation, renewal, and spiritual awakening. Its brief life represents the soul's journey, embracing change, intuition, and the ephemeral beauty of existence.

When I started experimenting with the capabilities of shrink plastic, the Luna Moth was one of the first images I used.

The remaining words form a completely new literary art. While my style and approach has evolved over time, this is one of my favorites that I've created and one of my favorite people in the world claimed it as their own.

One of my favorite ways to creatively unwind in the evening is making blackout poetry (sometimes called "found poetry"). This is where I take an existing page of text, typically from an old and worn out book, and selectively remove most of the words.

I'm still sort of a teacher in my 8-5 day job - I train Voc Rehab Counselors. And I teach art workshops at the art gallery.

Mostly, I want to be happy. And I am. I think that 8-year old me would be incredibly proud of me.

A very good friend requested a commission in a medium that I had never worked in before, so I got to have some fun experimenting, and these monarch butterfly shrink plastic earrings were the result of that experimentation. I'm excited to share the other designs I've been playing around with too!
