Was waiting on dinner to be delivered, knock at the door. I open it and there’s a woman with a big red card and a foil container. She looks surprised to see me and says “Oh…is Kiera here?”, tell her it’s just me and I moved here a month ago. She looks CRUSHED.
When I moved to my apartment in North Hollywood, I introduced myself to my neighbors with a basket of fun sodas and beers. By the time I left, I knew everyone around me.
Just tried it here in Austin and someone threatened to call the cops on me, while another slammed the door in my face.

CitizenCon was already a month ago?? Time flies when you’re having fun (or desperately, furiously trying to avoid thinking about moving halfway across the country, as it turns out).
My "go with the flow" joie de vivre-filled attitude is hitting a real hard wall rn after I've see how much fucking money I just saved planning out a trip a year in advance instead of waiting a week beforehand to buy travel and accommodation like I usually do.
We're back to where we wiped and had to start over last time.
