A 1996 print ad for Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame, featuring the main characters from the film happily dancing around. Below is tagline "Join the Party." Said film includes themes of violence, racism, abuse, corruption of the church, and an entire musical number where the villain, Judge Frollo, lusts over the heroine Esmeralda. This isn't the fun kid-friendly party the poster promised us.

My favorite movie ads are the ones that are the complete opposite of the film's actual tone.

I do like to entertain the thought of how he’d handle Fred Moore’s girls. The overall disney culture, even after the strike, probably would’ve been much different if all the other east coasters like Shamus Culhane or Al Eugster had stayed after Snow White was finished

Agreed, staying there would’ve been a better choice than moving to Miami Fleischer, where he’d be fired come Feb. of ‘40. He could’ve done killer work on Fantasia and Pinocchio, since rotoscoping is minimal in those pictures he wouldve expressed himself better than in Snow White or Gulliver Travels

Have some incredible pencil tests from How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The Chuck Jones classic will always and forever be my definitive version of the Dr. Seuss tale. That animation and Boris Karloff's voice really just bring it all together.
