Info from scrutineers confirms that Peter George's preferences are behaving as expected, meaning that Labor will retain its 2nd seat in Franklin

... but there are more independents in the 'ungrouped' column and more independents in multi-candidate groups (like the Peter George group)

More than a quarter of all candidates are independents, a big jump on last year.

There are 161 candidates in Tasmania, slightly down on last year, but there's been a big drop in the number of ballot columns across the state, and a big jump in the number of independent candidates.

That'll make for simpler ballots for most voters...
