‘Thanking their lucky stars’: How the Chinese vote shaped Albanese’s trip
As the Albanese government celebrates the success of the prime minister’s trip to China, it is clear the diplomatic visit has electoral implications in at least 15 seats.
Far bigger in scale than the mission to get the teal seats back, embracing cultural diversity particularly the Chinese diaspora holds the key to the Coalition forming gov't again.
That makes the PM's China trip so interesting.

‘Tail’s wagged the dog’: The Coalition’s implosion
The Nationals staked their political future on four policy positions, in what looks increasingly like a messy and misguided coup.
A senior Liberal figure tells The Saturday Paper: “Everybody in the National Party hates the LNP because, in their eyes, they think the LNP are basically a bunch of transvestite Nats who’ve had a Liberal sex change.” #auspol www.thesaturdaypaper.com.au/news/politic... via @thesaturdaypaper.com.au

Can Sussan Ley rebuild the Liberal Party?
Sussan Ley hopes to lead the Liberals from the centre, but former MPs warn there is ‘nothing even remotely sensible or centrist mulling around in that party room right now’.
Spoke with @kjbar.bsky.social earlier this week about Sussan Ley's leadership ascension:
“I think it was always a poisoned chalice for whoever took it, but I think Ley is facing that added gender element as well.”
