James Doyle’s Derby record is 14, 9, 7 ,9, 13, 6, 17, 10, 18 … 3rd time this Century the 1-2 has replicated the 1-2 in a trial after North Light / Rule of Law; Golden Horn / Jack Hobbs

Few late silly Derby stats… Lambourn the 3rd Derby winner after the War be named after a place in England, after Blakeney and Morston… Ryan Moore has now got on the wrong one of OBrien’s as many times as he has won the Derby (four)… /1

Yes. I remember after the Irish Derby Julian Wilson, who always had a Stoute bias, saying Dancing Brave wouldn’t have been able to live with Shahrastani at the Curragh. And the KG odds were 11-10 Shahrastani, 6-4 Dancing Brave. So until the KG racing enthusiasts were split pretty much 50/50

Remembering in 1991 McCririck saying that Toulon would’ve been the first Derby winner named after a place in France since Paris (1806). Pride of Arras looks set to be the next to try to right that wrong
