Great talks and panels yesterday at Speculative Writing in Focus, part of the inaugural Willoughby Literary Festival. I hope it runs again next year!
There are over a hundred amazing artworks, along with the personal stories behind them. Moving, relatable, and thoughtful. It really feels like a snapshot of a vibrant and diverse community.
Congratulations to my sister @ceciliamok.bsky.social for being a finalist in the Burwood Art Prize for her painting "Heritage"! The theme this year is "I AM HERE: Celebrating Cultural Narratives and Perspectives". The exhibition is on at Burwood Library from 26 May to 22 June.
Loved hearing all the stories at the open mic session today, held by Sydney Speculative Scribes and WestWords. An entertaining and inspiring afternoon! Future sessions on 13 July, 19 October, and 16 November.

The mythical Phoenix is a symbol of harmony, transformation and peace in Chinese culture. I wanted to feature the Phoenix along with some symbolic flowers in my Chinese Heritage Revival design, my take on the traditional Arts & Crafts design.
