those of us laid off from Teen Vogue were really fortunate to complete our fundraising goal — the laid-off staffers at VIBE deserve the same support, as Black media outlets and journalists continue to be targeted and discriminated against in “austerity” measures

During COVID, we learned the hard way that nearly all our hospital PPE i.e. masks, gowns, gloves comes from China.
A 104% tariff could send us straight back to pandemic-level shortages or drive healthcare costs even higher.🫠

MSNBC Cancels Joy Reid’s Show in Major Shake-Up (Gift Article) Ms. Reid’s 7 p.m. program will be replaced by a panel show co-hosted by Symone Sanders Townsend, Alicia Menendez and Michael Steele.

Thought I wouldn’t need to post this because it would make the rounds but I’m not seeing it in the TL so here’s a #GiftLink from the only coverage I’ve seen that Joy Ann Reid has been fired by MSNBC www.nytimes.com/2025/02/23/b...

This is a great time to support my comrades at @scarleteen.bsky.social with a vote for their entry in P4A! Inclusive, queer-led sex ed is critically lifesaving work and this funding would have a HUGE impact on the services they offer.

This place does not love us. It doesn't love Black life, and you can tell that by how it treats Black children.

Good thread on the inner workings of Toronto housing policy.

The hospital I work at always has patients we're struggling to safely discharge, purely because they have nowhere to live. And nowhere else to go.

These reforms are so desperately needed.

The way this council talks about apartment dwellers is so gd dehumanizing. My building has holiday parties and summer BBQs and book clubs and movie clubs. It’s the most “in community” I’ve ever felt.

I am so angry. A nurse reached out to me - she was brutally scalded with hot coffee by a white patient, who waited until her face was up before pouring it on her. Then, he called her the n-word. She’s looking for legal help. Black nurses deserve to feel safe too. This happened in Ontario, #Canada.
